A six-topic, 60-day learning path aligned with the Alberta Mathematics 10C program and suitable for Calgary Board of Education classrooms. Students develop numerical fluency, algebraic reasoning, graphical and functional thinking, geometric problem-solving, and the ability to communicate mathematical reasoning through investigation, practice, and application.
6 topics · 90 questions total
Students establish foundational problem-solving habits while working with SI and imperial units, significant digits, unit conversions, scale diagrams, rates, surface area, and volume. They will select appropriate formulas, estimate solutions, check reasonableness, and communicate solutions using correct units. Tasks should emphasize authentic contexts such as construction, design, maps, packaging, and household measurements. Students will also use a four-step problem-solving process: understand, plan, solve, and verify.
