Over approximately 15 days, students explore light as an important part of their everyday environment. They identify natural and artificial light sources, investigate how light interacts with different materials, observe and create shadows, and experiment with primary and secondary colours. Students practise asking questions, making predictions, observing carefully, recording results using drawings and simple charts, and communicating explanations using age-appropriate scientific vocabulary. Learning includes explicit attention to safe use of light sources and respectful collaboration during investigations.
